Meet Elena

Our AI kitchen host. The recipes she shows are written out in full.

Laying thin raw chicken pieces onto the cauliflower steaks
The kitchen: black gloves, a plain black top and charcoal cabinets.
Placing an olive spider with a red hourglass on a deviled egg
The garden table: black almond nails, a cream sweater and sage-green planks.
Cutting the grilled cheese in half on a plate
Same hands in every video, so you always know whose kitchen you're in.

Elena is the cook in every Lazy Plate video: the black gloves at the kitchen counter, and the black almond nails at the garden table.

She’s an AI character

Elena isn’t a real person, and we don’t pretend she is. Her hands, her kitchen, the garden table and the food in the videos are made with AI video tools. We give her a name because she’s the same host in every video, the way a cooking show has one host.

The recipes are written for your kitchen

Every recipe on Lazy Plate is written out in full: amounts in US cups and spoons (with metric on a switch), oven temperatures in °F and °C, cooking times, and the safe internal temperature for any meat, chicken or egg dish. They’re built on standard home-cooking methods.

The pictures on recipe pages come from the same videos, so they show the dish the way the video does. Yours may brown a little differently, and that’s fine.

What Elena likes

  • One pan whenever possible.
  • Short ingredient lists from a regular grocery store.
  • Low-carb comfort food, without making a fuss about it.
  • Party food that people stop and look at before they eat it.
