Privacy

This page explains what Lazy Plate collects and why. Last updated on 29 October 2026.

Comments

When you leave a comment, we store the name, email address and comment you enter, plus your IP address and browser, to help catch spam. Your email address is never shown. Comments are public once approved. If you tick the box under the form, your name and email are saved in a cookie on this device for a year, so you don’t have to type them again.

Videos

Recipe pages show each video in YouTube’s player, in its privacy-enhanced mode: YouTube receives your visit when the page opens, but doesn’t store information about you unless you press play. The video itself downloads only when you press play, and it follows YouTube’s own privacy policy.

Analytics

We may use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which recipes are read, printed or played. It records pages viewed, rough location and device type; it doesn’t tell us who you are. It loads only after you scroll, tap or press a key, or after a few seconds on the page. You can block it with Google’s opt-out add-on or any tracker blocker, and the site works the same.

Email

If you sign up for the weekly email, we keep your email address and first name to send it, and nothing else. The emails are sent through Kit (kit.com). Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.

Contact

To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email hello@thelazyplate.com. We reply within 30 days.
